Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rai stressed that Lebanon must emerge from its current reality to build a relationship with Syria between two neighboring countries that exchange capabilities.
He stressed that the Lebanese need peace, saying: “We want to enjoy peace, and the people need peace.”
He added: "Certainly, there will be no Syrian intervention in Lebanon, and if it does happen, it will not be in anyone's interest."
Patriarch Al-Rai also greeted Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, stressing that he brings "all good intentions" to rebuild Syria.
He expressed his hope that Al-Sharaa will be able to advance Syria and succeed in what he is currently working on. He also considered that the United States does not want to expand the war, suggesting that it is seeking peace because “everyone is tired of war.”
